We’re lucky enough to have the River Sow on our doorstep. The River Sow is the main river that passes through Stafford. The river begins its journey in a small valley of Fairoak, from here, it makes its way through the beautiful countryside before ending in Shugborough where it becomes a tributary of the River Trent.
Occasionally, ducks who’ve made their home on the river like to take a nap on the duck steps (behind Zizzi).
Just like you, ducks need to eat healthy food. The Canal and River Trust suggests that you avoid giving ducks bread, especially white bread – and you definitely shouldn’t give them crisps, chips, crackers, chocolate or nuts. It’s junk food for you – and ducks!
